The morning started bright and calm, as Drew University's freshman class of 2012 rode with their parents through Tilghman field. This new class comes from the largest pool of applicants in Drew's history, with the total number reaching some 5,200.

Last year, I remember my first semester as a freshman having my First-Year Seminar at 9 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, so I booked an 8:45 a.m. class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I thought if I woke up at the same time every day, it would make things easier for me.

More than 100 college presidents from around the country are calling for lawmakers to open discussion on lowering the national drinking age from 21 to 18, but do not count on St. John's to be among them, University officials said.

"St. John's is not involved in this story and the University has no comment," said an official university statement.

On August 25, returning upperclassmen moved into the residence halls to start a brand new year. While 2,700 students returned to the residence village, 284 students not only embarked on a new year, but they moved into brand new on-campus townhouses.

The New Founder's Student Townhouses have been highly anticipated for almost a year now, as construction broke ground last November, and lasted until July 30.
