After falling just short of a MAAC Tournament berth last season, the women's soccer team is out to prove their worth this year. Two years ago, I walked into the office of one of my advisers for one of those painful figure-out-my-future meetings.

After his first losing season in a decade, coach Al Bagnoli knew some changes were in line for Penn's storied football program.
He brought in nutritionists and fitness gurus, and his players reported to Penn on their own three weeks before training camp. But more than anything, his role as team psychologist has a markedly different tone.

There's nothing like a fresh fall season to bring life back into the summer months vacant of collegiate athletic activity. Besides clearing the slate from the previous year, the most entertaining part of the new school year in sports is seeing how teams will deal with the loss of their key senior players and how the new freshmen will help to fill this void.

Mike: Ohio State Ohio State has been a disappointment in the last two BCS Championship games, but in 2008 they have a more experienced and talented team that will avenge those embarrassing losses and win the National Title. Led by Heisman frontrunner, running back Chris Wells, and the best defensive player in the nation in James Laurinaitis the Buckeyes will dominate the weakest major conference in college football - the Big Ten.

Michael Phelps is just like you and me. Usain Bolt puts on his jeans the same way that I do. Tiger Woods enjoys a good book every once in a while just like you do. Wayne Gretzky sings cheesy '80s songs in the shower. LeBron James likes to consume a bowl of ice cream while watching "I Love New York," just like us.

For the second straight season, Robert Irvin is battling back from severe shoulder surgery. And once again, the quarterback - who started all 10 games as a sophomore in 2006 - must vie for his old job. Gone is Bryan Walker, who as a senior lost last fall's preseason competition only to step up when Irvin suffered a torn right labrum against Villanova in the second game of the year.

After a dominating fall season in 2007, the Lions football, soccer, cross-country, tennis and field hockey teams are looking to duplicate their success from last year. Many at the College were stunned last year when beloved men's baseball coach Rick Dell headed east to serve as an ambassador for the game he's always loved. One year later, it looks like the move was a success for Dell, who was a major player at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, even tossing out the first pitch during an opening round game between the United States and Korea.

After couple of down seasons, Madden 09 returns to playoffs.
Over the past few years, the Madden franchise has gone 8-8. In other words, the game has been rather average. While older versions have featured more in-depth franchise modes and the addition of Superstar mode, overall it hasn't impressed.
